The practical version
Start with what gets used.
A good gear list does not need to be impressive. It needs to make a normal running week easier to repeat. This checklist is a way to decide what earns a place before you add another option.
1. Shoes for the route you run
Choose a pair with a comfortable fit, an appropriate amount of traction for the surface, and enough structure for the distances you repeat. Use the shoe finder as a reading route, not a verdict.
2. Layers that can change with the weather
One breathable layer, one warmer layer and one light rain or wind option will do more than a crowded drawer full of single-purpose pieces.
3. Small safety tools
When you run before sunrise or after dark, carry visibility and identification tools that make sense for the route. Check the weather and local conditions before leaving.
4. A repeatable finish
Water, food, rest and a calmer next-day plan are often more useful than another complicated routine.
